About

I teach the thing
no one taught me:
how to come back.

I'm Michael Thomas. I train high performers, teams, and rooms to regulate their nervous system through breath, so they come back to center faster and stay there longer.

Former Wim Hof Method Instructor RESPA Breathwork Technology Advisor Founder, Plunsana
Michael Thomas, breathwork and nervous system coach

For most of my life, I believed calm was something you found. A place you arrived at once the work was done, the stress was handled, the noise went quiet. So I chased it the way everyone does. Harder, faster, more. And every time I got close, it moved.

The truth took me years to learn. Calm was never a destination. It is a capacity to come back. You are going to get pulled out of center. Life guarantees that. The only thing that actually matters is how fast you return, and whether you can do it on command when it counts.

That reframe changed everything, because it moved the work out of my head and into my body. Your sleep, your focus, your patience, your recovery, they don't run on willpower. They run on one nerve. The vagus nerve carries most of its signals up to the brain, not down, which means the body is running the show far more than we admit. You cannot think your way to steady. You have to train the nerve.

How I learned to train it

I went deep into the practices that actually move the nervous system. I trained and taught as a Former Wim Hof Method Instructor, working with breath, cold, and the body's stress response up close. I became a RESPA Breathwork Technology Advisor, staying at the edge of where breathwork and measurement meet. And I built Plunsana, a contrast therapy studio in St. Petersburg, Florida, so people would have a physical place to come back to themselves.

Out of all of it came The Vagal Method, a complete nervous system reset built around the vagus nerve using breath, heat, and cold. To date I've guided more than 5,300 resets, in studios, on stages, and one on one with the people who carry the most.

Why high performers

Because they get the worst advice. The world tells the most driven people among us to simply slow down, as if the answer to a heavy load is to carry less. That is not the work. The work is building a nervous system that recovers fast enough to keep going without breaking.

I'm not here to sell you calm as another thing to achieve. I'm here to give you the return. Because the faster you come back, the more unshakeable you become. That is true in the boardroom, on the stage, and at home with the people who need you steady.

The vagus nerve is the physical bridge between your body and your soul. My whole job is teaching you to walk it.
